Each semester, the University Scholars Program plans 2-3 service activties open to all University Scholars.  Sign-up is typically first come, first served.  This is a great way to give back to your community while at the same time building community with your fellow Scholars.  Please note that these events are not restricted to University Scholars enrolled in Scholars Forum. Contact Chester Brewer (ckbrewe2@ncsu.edu) for information on upcoming service activities or to suggest future service opportunities.

Service Event: Staff the Visual Art Exchange Annual Gala!

Meet in 102 Sullivan Hall
Saturday, February 10
6:15 PM
VAE Raleigh was founded in 1980 by a group of artists to encourage and support the development of the Triangle’s creative community, VAE is Raleigh’s longest running, private, non-profit visual arts organization. For the first time ever, you’re invited to help them start their year off right by giving them staff support at the 34th Annual “For the Love of Art” Gala and Fundraiser! They need a group of folks that can get excited, point lightsabers, ring cowbells, jump up and down, and encourage people to buy some art to support the gallery! If you think you’ve got what it takes to make this night sparkle, then you should join us. The dress is semi-formal and dinner nibbles will be provided. This is an amazing opportunity to give back and support the arts! There are 12 spaces available for this event and advance registration is required. Attendance will be taken by Chester Brewer. Please note: The event will begin at 7:30 PM at the Marriott. We should be back on campus by 10:30 PM.
